Through a series of articles, I detail the history of the video game industry in regards to specific companies, consoles, and pieces of hardware.
In this section I provide in depth reviews of game consoles, past and present, from my own collection. Included are details about the consoles' history, specs, and hi-resolution pictures.
A lot of first- and third-party hardware and software items are released that don't get the recognition that they deserve. In this section, I highlight some of the best.
Everyone who likes to play, collect, or otherwise has a love for video games has their two cents. I have a pocket full of pennies.
I have recently created a YouTube channel. Please Subscribe to my channel and comment on my videos if you would like to see continued support for the channel!
Learn about me, my collection, how I got started colleting, and where I can see my collection going in the future. I also detail why I decided to make this site, and provide a means for you to contact me.
Midwest Gaming Classic 2013
Back to Brookfield, WI for My Second Visit
2013 marked my second year at the Midwest Gaming Classic - one of the largest classic video game shows in the country!
Unlike last year, for 2013 I have focused my collection primarily around NES games. If you have been following me on YouTube at all, you'll know that I am striving for a complete loose-cart, licensed game NES collection. MWGC 2013 allowed me to knock just over 120 of those games off of my list. My MWGC haul was so big that I had to build a new shelf for my carts since the shelf I had built previously was completely full. Most of the games I picked up were fairly common, but there are a couple gems.
The overall layout of the 2013 show was the same as 2012. I recognized most of the vendors from 2012, and some of them even recognized me. I was able to say hi to a couple of other YouTubers at MWGC, including retroneshunter and bizzNES17, so that was cool. My friend Jeff and I hung out with Ben Heck and some of his buddies at the bar for a few hours, and had a good time with those guys. Ben and the boys were definteily a fun group of dudes to hang out with.
This year I remembered to pack my Go Pro, so I was able to get some video footage of the whole event. I made a fairly lengthy YouTube video showcasing my NES pickups, as well as video footage of the whole even, complete with narration. I have linked to that video down below, so feel free to click on the YouTube icon to watch that. MWGC 2013 was a blast, and I can't wait to go back next year!
